The Eagle Fire Department is ready to kick off its first Citizens Fire Academy! Beginning
Wednesday, September 20th the academy will meet for three consecutive Wednesdays from
6:30 – 9:30 PM at the Eagle Fire Department, 126 E. Main St. in the Village of Eagle.
This is an interactive program designed to familiarize the citizens of the Village and Town of
Eagle with the personnel, equipment, and operations of the fire department. It also provides a
form for the department and citizens to share information and concerns.
Participants will enhance their awareness of the department’s capabilities as well as learn
about its history and participate in “hands on” activities simulating what your fire and EMS
personnel do for the Town and Village such as;
• Handling a fire hose
• Donning firefighter PPE
• Vehicle extrication
• EMS “patient contact”
Participants must be at least 18 years of age and reside in or operate a business within the
Village or Town of Eagle. An enrollment application may be obtained from the Eagle Fire
Department web site, Facebook page, or at the fire station. The Academy will be limited to 15
participants in order to provide an optimal trainer / trainee ratio. Applications can be mailed
or dropped off at the Eagle Fire Department, or e-mailed to:
We believe that you will find this an informative and rewarding experience. And who knows,
you just may want to become part of the “EFD family”!
